## Biography: An international advocate for Rohingya justice

Tun Khin was born in Buthidaung Township in northern Arakan (Rakhine State), Myanmar. He comes from a prominent Rohingya family—his grandfather was elected as a Member of Parliament in Myanmar’s democratic era. Facing growing discrimination and statelessness, Tun Khin and his family fled the country after the military stripped Rohingya of their citizenship under the 1982 Citizenship Law.

Living in exile in the United Kingdom, Tun Khin founded the Burmese Rohingya Organisation UK (BROUK) and currently serves as its president. Under his leadership, BROUK has become one of the most visible international Rohingya advocacy organizations, actively lobbying governments, human rights institutions, and the United Nations. He frequently speaks to global media and has published articles in outlets such as Al Jazeera, The Guardian, Anadolu Agency, and Time magazine.

He has testified before the British Parliament, U.S. Congress, European Parliament, and the UN Human Rights Council, consistently demanding justice for the Rohingya people and accountability for military generals in Myanmar. He played a key role in submitting evidence to the International Criminal Court (ICC) and International Court of Justice (ICJ), supporting investigations into genocide and crimes against humanity.

Tun Khin has participated in dozens of conferences and interviews across the world, and met with key global leaders. He has also collaborated with other Rohingya leaders and diaspora groups to build stronger political unity.

In 2024, he became the Chairperson of the Arakan Rohingya National Council (ARNC), a political coalition representing Rohingya voices worldwide. Through this position, he has pushed for broader engagement with global institutions, and continues to campaign for Rohingya recognition, repatriation, and equal rights inside Myanmar.

His decades-long struggle reflects the voice of millions of Rohingya who remain stateless, silenced, and displaced. Tun Khin remains one of the most consistent and committed international advocates for Rohingya justice.
